24/7 Emergency Plumber in Middlesbrough
When you’ve got water pouring through the ceiling or your boiler has died in January, you need someone who can actually turn up. We provide 24/7 emergency plumbing and heating call outs across Middlesbrough and Teesside.
We’re not a call centre. When you phone, you’ll speak to us directly.
What Counts as an Emergency?
An emergency is something that’s causing damage, is dangerous, or leaves you without essential services. That includes:
Plumbing emergencies:
- Burst pipes flooding your property
- Major leaks from ceilings or walls
- Overflowing toilets you can’t stop
- Complete loss of water supply
- Sewage backing up
Heating emergencies:
- No heating when it’s freezing (especially with elderly or young children at home)
- Boiler leaking water
- Boiler showing dangerous fault codes
- Total loss of hot water
Gas emergencies: If you smell gas, don’t call us first. Open windows, don’t use any switches or flames, and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999. They’ll make it safe. Then call us for repairs.
Emergency Pricing
Emergency callouts start from £95. That covers our response and initial diagnosis. Repairs are quoted separately depending on what’s needed.
We don’t charge by the hour and then drag out the job. You’ll get a fixed price for the repair before we start any work.
| Scenario | Typical Cost |
|---|---|
| Callout + minor repair (e.g., stop a leak) | £95 - £150 |
| Burst pipe repair | £120 - £250 |
| Boiler repair (common fault) | £150 - £300 |
| Major leak requiring access work | Quote on inspection |
We operate 24/7 for genuine emergencies. For urgent-but-not-critical issues, we may still book you into the next available slot.
What to Do While You Wait
For burst pipes or major leaks:
- Turn off the water — Find your stopcock (usually under the kitchen sink or where the mains enters). Turn it clockwise to close.
- Turn off the heating — Stops water circulating and potentially making things worse
- Open taps — Drains water from the pipes faster
- Collect water — Buckets, towels, whatever you have
- Turn off electrics in affected areas — Water and electricity don’t mix
For boiler breakdowns:
- Check the pressure gauge — If it’s below 1 bar, try topping up (there’s usually a filling loop underneath)
- Check the thermostat — Make sure it’s set correctly and batteries aren’t dead
- Try the reset button — Most boilers have one. Hold it for 5-10 seconds.
- Check the gas supply — Is the meter on? Do other gas appliances work?
If none of that helps, call us. We’ll try to diagnose over the phone and may be able to suggest other things to try.
For frozen pipes:
In winter, pipes in unheated areas (lofts, garages, external walls) can freeze. If you suspect a frozen pipe:
- Don’t use a blowtorch — Seriously, this causes fires
- Apply gentle heat — Hot water bottles, hairdryers, or warm cloths wrapped around the pipe
- Start at the tap end — Work back toward the frozen section
- Keep a tap slightly open — Water expands when freezing, and this relieves pressure
If the pipe has already burst, you’ll know when it thaws. Be ready with the stopcock.
Our Emergency Response
When you call:
- We assess urgency — Burst pipe flooding a house goes to the front of the queue
- We give you an ETA — Honest estimate, not “sometime today”
- We arrive and diagnose — Find the problem and explain options
- We quote the repair — Fixed price before starting work
- We fix it — Properly, not a temporary bodge
If we’re already on a job and can’t get to you quickly, we’ll say so. We’d rather you call someone else than sit waiting for hours.
Areas Covered
We respond to emergencies across Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar, Thornaby, Guisborough, Billingham, Yarm, and surrounding areas.
Response times depend on where we are when you call and traffic, but for Middlesbrough and immediate surrounds, we can often arrive within 1-2 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can you get here?
Depends on where we are and what else is happening. For Middlesbrough, usually 1-2 hours. We’ll give you an honest estimate when you call.
Do you charge more for evenings and weekends?
Our emergency rate is the same regardless of when you call. Some emergency plumbers charge double at weekends—we don’t.
What if you can’t fix it today?
If we need to order a part, we’ll make the situation safe (stop the leak, isolate the supply) and return as soon as the part arrives. Usually next day.
Can you repair any boiler brand?
Yes, we work on all major brands. Parts availability depends on the boiler age, but we can usually source what’s needed.
Do I need to be home?
Yes, we need someone over 18 at the property to let us in and authorize the work.
What payment methods do you accept?
Card, bank transfer, or cash. Payment on completion for emergency work.
